North of Dakwäkäda
The fiery foothills of Kluane National Park
Experience a quintessential Yukon landscape of windswept rolling hills carved by wildlife, snow and ice.
An exhilarating helicopter ride, fiery red and orange alpine tundra, caribou, bison, Dall sheep, wolves… Welcome to the Traditional Territory of the Champagne and Aishihik First Nations.
After being dropped off high up in the mountains, we’ll explore an incredible landscape carved out by wildlife, and centuries of Indigenous travel and harvesting. Our hikes will take us to sweeping views of the area and on a clear day we’ll even see the St. Elias Mountains in Kluane National park, home of some of North America’s highest peaks.
Our route will also take us to a historic USAF C-47 crash site, where we’ll have a chance to explore a bit of aviation history as well as learn about the incredible story of the survivors (spoiler alert, everyone lived!).
This trip is located within the Traditional Lands of the Champagne and Aishihik First Nations.
